The Department of Labor claimed a small Rapid City farmer was not paying proper wages to his help and sent an agent out to investigate him. Govt employee: I need a list of your employees and how much you pay them. Farmer: Well, there's my farm hand who's been with me for 3 years. I pay him $200 a week plus free room and board. Then there's the mentally challenged worker. He works about 18 hours every day and does about 90% of all the work around here. He makes about $10 per week, pays his own room and board, and I buy him a bottle of bourbon every Saturday night so he can cope with life. He also sleeps with my wife occasionally. A Truly Joyous 50th Birthday Bash

Dawn is a breast cancer survivor and therefore close to our heart since. Brilliant Blooms' owner's mom, aunt and grandmother are survivors as well. Button, Button, Who's Got the Button?

We loved these casual wedding flowers in Boulder so much that we just had to share! The wedding flowers were wild and whimsical, including sunflowers, white daisy mums and dried yarrow. Our beautiful bride requested vase filler made of buttons! We added these to the wedding flowers in each reception centerpiece and the altarpieces at the wedding ceremony for a quirky and fun blast of color and texture.

FRAUD ALERT

If anyone gets an e-mail like the one below, beware. It's a scam. I had a similar inquiry last year about this time. It ended with them sending me a fraudulent cashier's check for about $3000 more than my asking price and them telling me to wire the extra money to their band in the UK.

We are thinking of doing the wedding planning ourselves because we don't want to pay much extra for that but we'd employ the services of a planner on the Day of the wedding to supervise all vendors, prior our wedding we shall make a visit trip to the US in early-October to meet with vendors ourselves for face to face consultations and if we're employing your services we'd surely meet then.

Cherry Blossom Inspired Wedding at The Denver Botanic Gardens

These fabulous wedding flowers incorporated the clean lines of "cherry blossom trees" hung with glass lanterns, vibrant shades of hot pink, and the intoxicating fragrance of stargazer lilies. Stefanie chose her wedding flowers with the spring blooming season in mind. We knew that real cherry blossoms on the branch might be hard to come by in mid May, but she was graciously open to the idea of using real branches decorated by silk flowers. The effect was stunning, and Mitchell Hall at the Denver Botanic Gardens was splendid. We alternated the wedding flower centerpieces by placing tall trees on half of the tables and short vases filled with lilies on the other half. Stefanie's wedding bouquet was composed exclusively of stargazer lilies as were the ceremony decorations. Matt's cute little boutonnière was a bit more understated. We used hot pink button mums and curly willow to create a complimentary look.

Featured Wedding: Bethy and Matt

All things white and platinum were the order of the day for this simply elegant wedding in downtown Denver. Bethy chose fragrant gardenias, feathery lisianthus, ivory roses, silver brunia berries and velvety soft dusty miller for her bridal bouquet. Matt's boutonniere was a simple cluster of silver brunia berries finished with a platinum satin ribbon wrapped around the stems. The wedding ceremony flowers needed to make a big statement in the vaulted and highly decorated church, so we used white hydrangea, Siberian lilies, Queen Ann's Lace, locally grown snapdragons and dramatically white painted curly willow for as much height as we could muster.

Our thanks go out to Bethy and Matt for being truly fabulous clients. Your wedding day was gorgeous, joyful and filled with love. We could just see the happiness flowing from you on your once-in-a-lifetime day!

This has got to be the cutest, most nostalgic delivery truck I have ever seen! It makes me think of steamy summer days in New England when we would hear the ice cream man coming and race down to the road with our pennies & nickels. You'll need a bit more than pennies and there is no ice cream aboard, but Cake Crumbs' new cupcake truck will be making the rounds in Denver very soon.
